Nieman Fellowships provide U.S. and international journalists working in all media with a paid opportunity to study at Harvard for an academic year. As a Nieman Fellow, you can step back from deadlines, reinvigorate your intellectual curiosity, strengthen your professional skills, and join a community that will inspire and support you for years to come.
Approximately two dozen journalists from around the world will be selected to spend the 2026-27 academic year at Harvard University. Fellows audit classes, participate in Nieman events, collaborate with peers, and attend seminars, workshops, and conferences designed to strengthen their professional skills and leadership capabilities.

Additional Financial Support: In addition to the $85,000 stipend, the Nieman Foundation provides funding for health insurance and child care for children ages 12 or younger.
