Principal Product Designer

CMT is looking for a collaborative, customer-committed, and creative Principal Product Designer who wants to join us in making roads safer by making drivers better!

Responsibilities

Collaborate with your squad to define highest priority design and research initiatives.

  • Apply a broad range of design techniques to achieve measurable business outcomes including research, conceptualization, prototyping, experimentation, usability testing.
  • Support rapid experimentation by creating low- and high-fidelity prototypes and assessing them based on qualitative and quantitative data with your team.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to other team members to research and understand the humans that use our products, the problem space, and the end-to-end customer experience.
  • Create high-fidelity designs and prototypes using design documentation, style guides, and component libraries.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams throughout the discovery and development process, including developers, product managers, UX researchers, marketers, analysts, and QA.
  • Contribute to broader product design team meetings and initiatives.
  • Effectively communicate and support design decisions to team members and stakeholders.
  • Complete any additional tasks as they arise.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/certification in a relevant field preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in product design working in both the consumer and enterprise space.
  • Prior experience working in an embedded, cross‑functional, experiment‑oriented product team.
  • In‑depth experience in mobile product design in iOS and Android.
  • Portfolio showcasing mobile product design samples and thinking.
  • Mastery of Figma, Prototyping, and Miro (or equivalent).
  • Experience with multiple user testing, research techniques, and tools.
  • Familiarity with Lean UX, growth hacking, and funnel optimization.
  • Experience working in fast‑paced, impact‑oriented team cultures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Open to strong remote candidates but prefer Cambridge, MA or Seattle, WA to be co‑located with our teams.
