The Pierre Keller Visiting Professorship provides an opportunity for a scholar with a well-established record of work and academic achievement in the field of European Union public policy and transatlantic relations to teach and conduct research in-residence at the Harvard Kennedy School ( HKS ). The Visiting Professorship can take place either in the fall of 2026 (September to December) or in the spring of 2027 (January to June), in consultation with HKS .

The recipient is expected to teach one course open to Kennedy School and Faculty of Arts and Sciences students during the fall of 2026 or spring of 2027 term on a transatlantic or EU-related subject to be negotiated with HKS .

The professorship provides a stipend of 60,000 USD and covers transatlantic travel expenses of up to 2,000 USD .

Basic Qualifications

Applicants are expected to be either senior scholars (with a PhD and ample teaching experience) or senior practitioners (not necessarily PhD holders but teaching experience is required), who have distinguished records of academic research, teaching and/or public service in the realm of transatlantic relations.

The applicant should have at least 6 months experience living or working in an English-speaking country.

Additional Qualifications Special Instructions

The Visiting Professorship can take place either in the fall 2026 (September to December) or in the spring 2027 (January to June), in consultation with HKS .

Applicants should provide a draft syllabus and brief overview of the course the applicant proposes to teach at Harvard Kennedy School, a research prospectus (limited to 3 pages), a CV, and a list of publications and taught courses (limited to 3 pages).
