Position: CSUS Literacy Support Interventionist

Description of Service Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and committed educator with strong literacy and pedagogical knowledge, solid classroom management skills, a deep commitment to educational and racial equity, and experience working in an urban school setting. The CSUS literacy support interventionist will provide small group instruction to 6th and 7th grade students during WIN blocks, push‑in to general education classrooms, and co‑plan lessons with general education teachers as needed.

The focus of this work will be on explicit vocabulary instruction, reinforcement of reading comprehension from Tier 1 texts, and support with writing skills and tasks.

Minimum Requirements
  • Literacy intervention experience in the upper school grades (6‑8) with a proven track record of promoting high achievement among all learners.
  • Strong knowledge of MA Curriculum Framework for ELA/Literacy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with a diverse staff and student body.
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
    Masters in Education strongly preferred.
  • Massachusetts Teacher Certification/Licensure in Middle School 5‑9, English 5‑12, Reading Specialist (all levels), or Moderate Disabilities (preK‑8) required.
  • A strong work ethic, alongside a commitment to doing whatever it takes for students to excel.
Length of Contract

November 3, 2025 through June 30, 2026

Contract Amount

Not exceed $7,860.00

Hourly Rate Note

Please note that your hourly rate is dependent upon your collective bargaining agreement or individual hourly rate. If you are a non‑exempt employee and have worked more than 40 hours a week, you will be paid time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours.
