Math Olympiad Advisor

Math Olympiad is a program aimed to stimulate enthusiasm and a love for mathematics, introduce mathematical concepts, teach strategies for problem solving, develop mathematical flexibility, strengthen mathematical intuition, foster mathematical creativity and ingenuity, provide the satisfaction, joy and thrill of solving challenges, and develop an appreciation of mathematics.

• Provide students with problems and opportunities to review solutions.
• Create and foster relationships with students to ensure each student success.
• Facilitate during 1 weekly before or after school meeting or weekly lunch sessions.
• Maintain open communication with students.
• Review student thinking and overall student comprehension.
• Provide ongoing feedback and encouragement for students throughout practice.
• Administer Math Olympiad (MOEMS) monthly problem‑solving contests in November through March.
• Commitment: 2 hours per week; one hour with students and one hour of planning.

• Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school mathematics.
• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college/university.
• Experience dealing with diverse student populations and familiarity working in an urban setting preferred.
• Priority will be given to regularly appointed teachers from Cambridge Public School District.

Contract Amount:
Not exceed $2,760.00

Hourly rate depends on collective bargaining agreement or individual hourly rate. Non‑exempt employees working over 40 hours per week will be paid time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours.
