  • BS. or M.S. (preferred) in Aeronautical/Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree/major
  • Demonstrated experience applying first principles to solve complex problems
  • Familiarity with Solid Works, Altium, or other design tools
  • Harness development: electrical component selection and fabrication to include crimping & soldering
  • RC C2: familiarity with radio transceivers, power systems, and integration into a larger system
  • Mechanical fabrication: laser cutting, woodworking, basic composites, additive manufacturing
  • Self‑starter and planner
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with unmanned aerial systems (fixed‑wing & VTOL platforms), flight controllers, power systems, sensors, navigation, communications, and R/C‑based solutions
  • Strong understanding of aircraft design, flight mechanics, and aircraft stability and control
  • RC aircraft hobby & familiarity with commercial autopilots & peripheral sensors
  • Experience with bench top and field experimental design to verify hardware design and performance requirements
  • Familiarity with PX4, Ardu Pilot, or similar. Parameter configuration, firmware updating and management, log download and data archival.
