Job Description
Tree Frog Therapeutics is an innovative, international biotechnology company aiming to bring cell therapies to millions of patients using our C-STEM encapsulation technology, enabling large-scale amplification of iPS and differentiated cell products for patients. Using our C-STEM format, Tree Frog Therapeutics is currently developing multiple cell therapy programs for disease indications including Parkinson’s disease and acute liver failure. Tree Frog Therapeutics has also entered a collaboration with Vertex Pharmaceuticals to incorporate C-STEM in the production of iPS-derived islets for type 1 diabetes.
Our US team is located in Cambridge, MA and supports a combination of internal R&D programs as well as collaborations with external partners.
- Deploying Tree Frog Therapeutics proprietary technologies at US-based collaborator sites. This includes our portfolio of encapsulators as well as our proprietary image based PAT
- Training key personnel on encapsulation and culture platforms as well as on the corresponding bioprocesses
- Supporting interactions with partner’s technical teams to better understand processes, project goals, and applications
- Providing continuous scientific guidance and lab support to our partners and feedback to relevant TFT teams (Innovation, R&D, Process Development, Business Development, Regulatory)
- Providing internal support to the Innovation team toward technology development
- Creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation
- Effectively reporting and presenting findings to a variety of audiences, including cross-functional teams and external partners
- Strong expertise in bioprocess, cell culture and bioreactor required
- Experience with perfusion and fluidic systems
- Experience in stem cell culture and characterization
- Expertise in prototyping or Mechanical/Electrical engineering is a plus
- Experience in the field of cell therapy in a customer-facing position or highly collaborative environment (i.e. consortium)
- Knowledge of biotechnology manufacturing processes and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
- Knowledge or understanding of the regulatory environment of cell therapy
- Comfortable with written and verbal communication with customers and public audience
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
Required
- M.S. or equivalent in Biotechnology, Bioengineering, or a related field
Preferred
- 2+ years of experience in the Bioprocess field
- 50% travel to client sites within New England
- Due to travel requirements, a car is needed for this position
- Cumulative training period of 2-3 months in Bordeaux, France
