Job Description

Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer 1 develops novel solutions to customer driven problems including ruggedized miniature electro-mechanical systems, systems for harsh environments (e.g. high-g, high temperature, high vibration), dynamic mechanisms, and autonomous systems. The mechanical design team is responsible for the full cycle of mechanical design from concept exploration of multiple potential solutions through trade study analysis, down-selection, prototyping and testing, and finally delivery.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Performs mechanical design concept exploration, trade study analysis, down-selection, prototyping, and testing with guidance from group leader.
• Applies basic technical knowledge to well defined problems and seeks out opportunities to learn new technical skills.

• Analyzes requirements and develops appropriate electro-mechanical systems with guidance.
• Contributes content for technical reports and presentations with appropriate guidance.
• Independently execute design assignments under the oversight of program leadership

• Contribute content for technical reports and presentations with appropriate guidance

• Adapt appropriately to changes in program requirements

• Identify challenges associated with assigned work and communicate them to project leadership
