Senior DERMS/DMS Test Engineer (Power & Utilities)

Job Description:
- Advanced DERMS/DMS/OT Systems Testing Expertise – Extensive experience testing DERMS, DMS, ADMS, SCADA, and mission‑critical real‑time OT control systems across functional, integration, regression, and performance testing scenarios.
- Grid Operations & Control Workflow Knowledge – Strong understanding of DER onboarding, forecasting, optimization, dispatch logic, grid constraints, and DMS operational workflows supporting real‑time distribution grid management.
- Automation & Scripting Proficiency – Skilled in designing automated and manual test scripts using Python, Shell, and CI/CD‑aligned automation frameworks for improving test efficiency and coverage.
- Communication Protocols & Systems Integration – Hands‑on expertise with protocols such as IEEE 2030.5, OpenADR, ICCP, DNP3, and Modbus along with integrating DERMS/DMS platforms with ADMS, SCADA, gateways, and IT/OT systems.
- Cybersecurity, Compliance & Documentation Excellence – Strong capability in validating cybersecurity standards, interoperability frameworks, regulatory compliance, and maintaining detailed test documentation including reports, traceability matrices, and audit evidence.
We are seeking a highly skilled Test Engineer to support our GridOS DERMS and DMS S3 Services teams, focusing on validating the functionality, performance, reliability, security, and compliance of mission‑critical grid management applications.
In this role, you will be responsible for testing distributed energy resource management systems (DERMS) as well as real‑time Distribution Management System (DMS) applications and integrations that support modern grid operations.
You will collaborate closely with engineering, integration, cybersecurity, and operations teams to ensure high‑quality deployments aligned with utility expectations, regulatory standards, and operational performance requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess strong experience testing OT systems such as DERMS, ADMS, SCADA, and DMS platforms, with a solid understanding of energy management technologies, DER integration workflows, forecasting, optimization, distribution operations, and real‑time control systems.
