Process Safety Engineer

A Process Safety Engineer will lead programmatic management to comply with OSHA Process Safety Management and other applicable regulations across the New England Region. The role will promote the success of the Process Safety Management program through collaboration with site functional and corporate SME networks.

Responsibilities:

• Apply GSK safety and environmental guidelines related to Process Safety.
• Lead hazard assessments such as HAZOP and HAZID to support lifecycle management of PSM‑covered processes and equipment.
• Interpret regulation and corporate expectations into site policy and procedures.
• Facilitate the deployment and management of the OSHA PSM, EMA RMP, and GSK 5.13 programs.
• Develop and share personal Process Safety Engineering skills and expertise with the organization.
• Conduct technical writing, formal process safety training, incident investigations, and PHIRA.
• Apply fundamental principles of Basis of Safety for operations.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering.
• 3+ years experience in Process Safety Management.
• Experience with FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, Technical Drawings, Technical Writing, Formal Process Safety Training, or PHIRA.
• Experience in Process Safety principles in design, operation and change management of plant and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Technology Transfers, Technical Risk Assessments, and Product Control Strategies.
• Clear awareness of process safety risks.

Cambridge, MA;
Waltham, MA;
Rockville, MD; or San Francisco, CA. Annual base salary ranges from $111,375 to $185,625, depending on location, skills, experience, and market rates. The position also offers an annual bonus and eligibility for a share‑based long‑term incentive program.
