Key Responsibilities
- Provide training to staff regarding proper implementation of behavioral programming, teaching strategies, and data collection
- Determine appropriate goals/objectives for students and design effective skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs to make progress towards these goals
- Monitor and support the implementation and effectiveness of skill acquisition and behavior reduction programming, and make changes/recommendations to enhance progress
- Provide regular consultation services to teachers and support staff
- Facilitate inclusion opportunities in to the general education setting and community settings
- Participate in team meetings, including but not limited to IEP meetings, re-evaluations, progress meetings, and school-home carryover meetings
- Collaborate with all team members, including teaching and support staff, Office of Special Education staff, specialists, parents, and outside organizations
- Collaborate with specialists to implement procedures within the classroom setting to assist with carryover of skills targeted in therapy sessions
- Conduct functional behavior assessments, prepare and analyze results
- Write and monitor behavior support plans
- Provide training to parents regarding the proper implementation of behavior management strategies
- Consult with families/guardians and coordinate care/home services.
- Carry out other related duties as may be designated
- MA DESE License:
Severe Special Needs or Moderate Special Needs preferred - BCBA Board Licensure required
- Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university
- Knowledge of and experience working with students with social, language, and behavioral deficits
- Strong working knowledge of behavioral principles
- Experience with adaptive technology
- Experience working in a public school setting preferred
