Job Overview

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a PET/CT Technologist to join our team. As a Positron Emission Tomography–Computed Tomography (PET/CT) Technologist, you will operate scanner(s) to produce diagnostic images while providing excellent customer service and patient-centered care.

Part-Time Schedule

This is a part-time position working approximately 35 hours per week; shifts are 7:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Patient PET/CT Imaging (90%)
    • Screen patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions; use two identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure.
    • Explain and prepare patients for PET/CT imaging procedures, positioning patients appropriately.
    • Perform routine and advanced PET/CT imaging procedures on designated portions of the body with minimal supervision.
    • Adjust scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques.
    • Provide patient support and communication throughout the procedure.
    • Maintain positive relationships with radiologist, referring customers, and peers.
    • Follow physician orders precisely and comply with all safety regulations.
    • Accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
    • Keep the work area orderly, clean, and promote safety habits.
    • Maintain ACR toolkit, accreditation requirements, and equipment in good working order.
    • Ensure compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
    • Assess, prepare, record, and administer radio-pharmaceuticals according to NRC and departmental policies.
    • Administer FDG via intravenous methods.
    • Demonstrate safety-related work behaviors to maintain a safe environment.
    • Report contamination to the Radiation Safety Officer.
  • PET/CT Department Support (5%)
    • Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
    • Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as needed.
    • Assist with training of new associates.
    • Perform and record daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly quality control procedures on PET/CT equipment.
    • Perform daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure compliance with radiation standards and NRC/State regulations.
  • Other Tasks (5%)
    Complete other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are not listed; candidates should have experience operating PET/CT scanners and be proficient in radiation safety, patient preparation, and image acquisition.
