Cambridge Health Alliance is looking for a dynamic pharmacy technician to join our dedicated team at our Ambulatory Pharmacy Departments located in Cambridge/East Cambridge/Malden/Revere/Medford. Our ambulatory pharmacies are embedded within the health system, providing opportunities for interprofessional collaboration. Our Ambulatory Pharmacy Team utilizes a top notch pharmacy system and state of the art automation. We utilize EPIC for our Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Parata/Rapid Pak automation for dispensing, and Google Workplace in our Ambulatory Pharmacies.

The services we provide are performed with a focus on optimized patient care and safety, increasing patient and provider satisfaction, and enhancing the financial sustainability of the organization. Job Purpose:

Accurately creates/maintains a patient profile of health- and insurance-related information in the pharmacy computer system. Registers patients as required and enters prescription orders into the computer systems. Assists patients, family members and/or employees who drop off prescriptions; sets appropriate prescription pick-up expectations. Assists Ambulatory Pharmacists in filling prescription orders, compounding various non-sterile products, dispensing prescriptions and making the offer to counsel.

Assists Ambulatory Pharmacists in handling phone calls from patients and health care providers. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

Qualifications/Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate is required. MA Pharmacy Technician license. Must have a current pharmacy technician registration in good standing from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy or be eligible for registration in MA. In lieu of an active MA registration, candidates must register prior to working 1000 hours at the Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA). Failure to register within this time period will result in the discontinuation of employment at CHA.

Certification

Completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved certifying body pharmacy technician certification examination is preferred.

Work Experience:

Minimum of one year experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred.
