The

impact you will make:

The Agios Clinical Educator(ACE) is responsible for establishing strong working relationships with patients and healthcare professionals. The ACE will utilize their professional skills and clinical experience to engage with health care providers to deliver disease state education, genetic testing information, and approved product messaging. The ACE will also gain insights from clinical teams and office staff supporting patients with chronic hemolytic anemias to further their understanding of the disease burden associated with hereditary anemias, related diagnostic challenges, and the types of support they need for their patients.

The ACE also supports the patient centric business model by providing disease and product education to patients and families affected by genetic disease for which Agios provides a treatment option.

Territory to include this major market:
San Diego, Los Angeles, Phoenix

What you will do:
  • The ACE will work closely with patients, families and care teams to provide in-depth education and resources to support and empower patients/caregivers living with PK deficiency and Thalassemia.
  • Provide opportunities to make connections with other patients and caregivers affected by Thalassemia and PK deficiency.
  • Deliver educational programs (in person or virtually) with patients, families and caregivers affected by PK deficiency and Thalassemia.
  • Utilize approved messaging during engagements with healthcare professionals to provide disease state education and raise awareness of Thalassemia and PK Deficiency and the role of the Agios Clinical Educator.
  • Effectively collaborate with cross functional partners (Hemolytic Anemia Specialists (and Patient Support Managers) on complex patient and customer issues.
  • Pro-actively identify regional diseases state education initiatives
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to address needs and enhance process improvement opportunities.
  • Timely follow up on committed appointments internally / externally
  • Delivers activity updates to regional colleagues, ensuring effective cross-functional collaboration within the regional team to support initiatives.
  • Document all activities in appropriate CRM tools to facilitate the tracking of key metrics.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in a manner that is compliant with industry rules, regulations and Agios policies.
What you bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree, clinical background in nursing or as an advance practice provider
  • 5+ years of related experience, including supporting patients. Hematology or rare disease background preferred.
  • Exceptional communications skills (written, verbal and presentation)
  • Ability to think strategically, work independently and collaborate across a diverse cross functional team, exhibiting a result driven mindset.
  • Ability to travel in the US (up to 50% travel)
  • Proficiency in additional languages preferred (Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi, Arabic, Vietnamese).
