Purpose

The Global Scientific Sourcing – Scientific Activation Specialist is a member of the Johnson & Johnson Innovation (JJI) Global Scientific Sourcing team within Strategy, Operations and Scientific Sourcing (SOSS) organization. This role plays a key part in designing, developing and implementing scientific activation, in alignment with priorities for External Scientific Innovation and our therapy areas. The role will work within the Global Scientific Activation Hub to deliver against business priorities such as strategic sourcing, managing the central calendar, developing and managing best practices and playbooks.

This role will support external engagement including paid, earned, owned, and shared channels. It is responsible for designing and implementing strategies that cultivate a vibrant community of scientific innovators for the Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicines portfolio and communicating value‑added service offerings, collaborating across cross‑functional teams. The role reports into Senior Director, Global Scientific Sourcing – Search.

Responsibilities
  • Support the vision, mission, and engagement strategy/plan to attract high‑potential, strategically aligned companies into the ESI ecosystem in partnership with the Global Scientific Sourcing Hub team.
  • Support marketing excellence planning as a team member of the Global Scientific Sourcing Hub, supporting materials for regional team activation deployment, inclusive of playbooks and toolkit for programming, partnering events, showcases and pitches, and conference sponsor ships, and managing the central calendar.
  • Support team efficiencies, serving as a consultant on planning, scheduling, speaker recruitment and audience management, marketing, and sourcing metrics across live events, webinars, and crowd sourcing strategies – helping to facilitate the training process where needed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across our regional Search and Evaluation and Scientific Engagement Teams, as well as within IM R&D to deliver global scientific activation.
  • Work with the Associate Directors, Global Scientific Sourcing Scientific Activation, supporting the Global Scientific Sourcing Hub on the building of the activation library, a set of scientific activations that can be leveraged across the regional teams.
  • Support the development of the global ESI calendar of events, gathering inputs from across the teams as needed.
  • Support strategic alignment for global scientific engagements, including initial alignment with therapeutic area leadership with Innovation Centre Heads and the initial creation of a conceptual brief (including program description, agenda, speaker targets, and audience curation strategy).
  • Support scientific ecosystem, including partnering with digital engagement and the Global Scientific Sourcing Hub team on CRM strategies, paid digital advertising approaches, and promotional partner list building and maintenance.
