The Senior Manager of Technical Program Management (TPM) will support our Finance Tech Leadership and Support Team, driving key programs as part of the integration between Discover and Capital One. This role requires experience leading large‑scale data engineering and architecture initiatives, partnering with business and product teams to deliver a dynamic roadmap and ensure successful delivery. Ideal candidates have a deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, data lakes, ETL/ELT pipeline design, and data modeling leveraging cloud‑based solutions.

In addition to the technical program, you will also work to pave the way for an expanding TPM discipline within the team, teaching the organization the value of a great TPM.

• Strong technical background with scalable platforms, products, or services and the ability to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout delivery life‑cycle
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and influencing skills
• Excellent problem‑solving ability and a systems‑thinking approach
• A quantitative approach to problem solving and implementation of holistic solutions
• Ability to simplify the technically complex and drive well‑educated decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science teams

• Exceptional cross‑team collaboration, able to work across different functions and organizations to get the job done
• Highly tuned emotional intelligence, good listening skills, and deep empathy for teams and partners

• Bachelor’s degree
• At least 5 years of experience managing technical programs

• 5+ years designing and building data‑intensive solutions using distributed computing
• 5+ years in data engineering
• 5+ years in data architecture
• 3+ years building distributed systems & highly available services using cloud computing services (preferably AWS)
• 3+ years of experience with Agile delivery
• 3+ years delivering large and complex programs, owning business or technical vision, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, securing commitments, and unblocking teams to achieve business impact
• Experience building systems & solutions within a highly regulated environment
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering)

The role is eligible for performance based incentive compensation, including cash bonus(es) and/or long‑term incentives.
