Key Responsibilities- Serve as a key engineer for the optimization team and contribute technical expertise to teams in closely aligned technical areas such as Dev Ops, Cloud, and Infrastructure.
- Accountable for delivery of scalable solutions to the Compute and AI/ML platforms that support the entire application lifecycle, with a focus on performance at scale.
- Partner with both AI/ML and Compute platform teams as well as scientific users to help optimize and scale scientific workflows using deep understanding of software and underlying infrastructure (networking, storage, GPU architecture).
- Participate in the scrum team and contribute technical expertise to teams in closely aligned technical areas.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 1+ year industry experience in software engineering with AI/ML and MLOps.
- Experience using one interpreted and one compiled common industry programming language (e.g., Python, C/C++, Scala, Java), including tool chains for documentation, testing, and operations/observability.
- Experience with application performance tuning and optimization in parallel and distributed computing paradigms (e.g., MPI, OpenMP, Gloo).
- Expertise in modern software development tools and practices (e.g., Git/Git Hub, Dev Ops, metrics/monitoring).
- Cloud expertise (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Packer) and scalable cloud compute technologies.
- Understanding of AI/ML training optimization and distributed multi‑node training best practices.
- Experience with machine learning model deployment strategies, including scalable inference systems in multi‑GPU, multi‑node environments.
- Experience with CI/CD implementations using Git and common CI/CD stacks (Azure Dev Ops, Cloud Build, Jenkins, Circle
CI, Git Lab). - Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and the larger CNCF ecosystem, including Helm.
- Experience with low‑level build tools (make, CMake) and optimization at the build and compile level.
- Demonstrated excellence with agile software development environments using Jira and Confluence.
If you are based in Cambridge, MA;
Waltham, MA;
Rockville, MD; or San Francisco, CA, the annual base salary for new hires ranges from $88,275 to $147,125. The position also offers an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in a share‑based long‑term incentive program.
