Overview

SENIOR COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE PARALEGAL
, MIT Investment Management Company (MITIMCo), will play a vital role in supporting MITIMCo’s Real Estate Legal team and the work of MITIMCo’s Real Estate Group; oversee document and compliance management, MITIMCo’s special purpose real estate entities, standard consultant and service-provider contracting, and other specified legal processes on an as needed basis; support contract and lease negotiations and management, the closing of capitalization transactions, and the insurance portfolio for MITIMCo’s real estate holdings.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include supporting challenging contract and lease negotiations and management, closing capitalization transactions, and managing the insurance portfolio for MITIMCo’s real estate holdings; overseeing document and compliance management and MITIMCo’s special purpose real estate entities; managing standard consultant and service-provider contracting; and handling other specified legal processes on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications
  • REQUIRED:

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; experience in a commercial-focused real estate legal practice or in-house real estate legal department/office; track record of producing high-quality work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with frequent deliverables.
  • Experience with legal documents in real estate management/development.
  • Ability to take initiative and own projects; work independently with minimal supervision; set priorities and manage multiple activities, often under pressure with interruptions.
  • Proven ability to juggle several stakeholders at varying levels and build positive internal and external relationships.
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; ability to lead with poise and professionalism.
  • Proven ability to implement improvements to enhance team effectiveness; follow through on enhancements.
  • Ability to resolve complex problems independently with sound judgment to seek support when required.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Strong computer skills, including fluency in Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • PREFERRED:
    Paralegal certificate and experience with Adobe Acrobat.
