Position: Research Policy Associate I

RESEARCH POLICY ASSOCIATE I

Economics, to support work at all stages of the research process on research projects in the fields of econometrics and applied machine learning/artificial intelligence with Professor Ashesh Rambachan. This position offers the opportunity to gain exposure to and training in a broad set of statistical methods and economic research topics. Will engage directly in the research process and implement complete project pipelines covering data processing, machine learning, and statistical inference;

work on research projects with Professor Ashesh Rambachan and his co‑authors at MIT, the University of Chicago, Harvard University and other institutions; and collaborate with all stages of the research process on projects in the fields of econometrics and applied machine learning / artificial intelligence.

Responsibilities
  • Engage directly in the research process and implement complete project pipelines covering data processing, machine learning, and statistical inference.
  • Collaborate with Professor Ashesh Rambachan and co‑authors at MIT, the University of Chicago, Harvard University and other institutions.
  • Assist in all stages of the research process on projects in the fields of econometrics and applied machine learning/artificial intelligence.
Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree in economics, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of specialized experience with qualitative data analysis, research methods, social sciences (may include experience gained as an undergraduate).
  • Strong quantitative and programming skills in Python and R.
  • Time and project management skills and excellent attention to detail.
Preferred Start Date

June 1st, 2026 with some flexibility.

Employment Term

1‑2 years.
