Research Associate – Gene Therapy Delivery (STRM.BIO)

Cambridge, MA – Full Time – Entry Level – $70,000 – $90,000 USD annually.

STRM.BIO is a VC-backed biotech startup building a novel gene therapy delivery platform based on extracellular vesicles (EVs). We’re a small, fast-moving team at The Engine in Cambridge, MA, focused on delivering targeted, scalable genetic medicines.

• Support cross‑functional research programs with technical leadership.
• Contribute to R&D project milestones, maintaining scientific rigor and ethical standards.
• Generate, analyze, and document experimental results in ELNs and internal reports.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of molecular and cellular biology techniques.
• Perform wet‑lab tasks, troubleshoot experiments, and facilitate collaboration with external CROs.
• Attend team meetings to discuss results and future plans.

• B.S. or M.S. in biology, immunology, bioengineering, or related field.
• Prior industry experience preferred.
• Familiarity with gene‑editing technologies (CRISPR, TALEN, ZFNs) and delivery platforms (viral vectors, LNPs, exosomes).
• Experience with in vivo studies or willingness to learn animal handling protocols.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, comfortable in interdisciplinary teams.
• Experience with CRO collaboration or CMC workflows is a bonus.

Location:

Cambridge, MA – 100% on‑site. Full time with competitive compensation. Salary: $70,000 – $90,000 USD annually.
