Join to apply for the Research Associate role at Axoniverse
As a research associate, you will be primarily responsible for culturing neurons from iPSCs using established protocols, optimizing them, and ensuring that the team has a steady supply of high-quality cultures for experiments. You will also be an active part of other research happening in the lab and spend a lot of time setting up new experiments.
Training and computing with human neurons is very new with a lot of potential, so if it works out, we will literally start a new wave of computing. It will be a long ride, but a ride worth taking. The territory is completely uncharted, so please apply only if you can handle ambiguity and are willing to put in the necessary hours in a startup environment.
KeyQualifications
- Prior experience and deep knowledge in culturing neurons from iPSCs through various differentiation protocols.
- Ability to manage different cell lines, set up experiments, and actively monitor and document the progress of experiments.
- Neurobiology or neuroscience background with a strong understanding of the brain, including basics like neurogenesis and neuronal development.
- Have a scientific mindset and familiarity with the research process in a laboratory setting.
- Passion for the idea, potential, and belief that computing with neurons is the future.
Good to have:
Prior research experience developing new differentiation protocols, reprogramming iPSCs, cell engineering, developing neural organoid/assembloid models, co‑culturing with glial cells or other types of neurons, developing vascularized models, and research papers demonstrating expertise in any of the above areas.
Most importantly, you should be willing to play games against neurons. You won’t win, but it will be fun!
