Posting DescriptionPosition:
Technical Associate I, Sloan Economics, Finance, and Accounting. This is a full‑time research assistant role for at least one year with the option to extend to two years. You will collaborate on all stages of research on projects covering fintech, cryptocurrencies, blockchain, financial intermediation, and consumer finance, gaining exposure to a broad set of economic research topics and methodologies. It is ideal for those planning to pursue a PhD or advanced Master’s program in economics, finance, business analytics, or related fields.
Key responsibilities:
- Analyze large quantitative and qualitative datasets as part of research projects.
- Collect, process, and manage data using new tools, including blockchain data and data from other digital platforms.
- Apply machine learning, big data analytics, econometric methods, and other advanced analytical techniques.
- Summarize and document research results and contribute to diverse research agendas.
- Required:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, economics, statistics, or a related field. - At least two years of specialized experience with qualitative data analysis, research methods, and social sciences (including undergraduate experience). Strong programming skills in Python, R or SQL.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. for the duration of the appointment.
- Preferred:
Master’s degree.
