Co-op student supporting early-stage neurodevelopmental research focused on therapeutic strategies to modulate disease-relevant RNA transcripts within Biogen's Neurodevelopmental Biology Research Group.
Responsibilities- perform molecular assays (qPCR, ddPCR, western blot)
- cell culture
- transfection/transduction of human iPSC-derived neurons and cell lines
- immunostaining
- fluorescence microscopy
- quantitative image analysis to aid target identification and validation
- experimental planning
- troubleshooting
- data documentation
- currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program
- pursuing degrees in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology/Biochemistry, or Neuroscience
- strong cell biology, genomics, and proteomics foundation
- technical wet lab experience
- legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- must be at least 18 years old
- familiarity with functional cellular assays such as multi-electrode array recording
- data analysis tools like Graph Pad Prism
- neurodevelopmental disorders
- RNA transcript modulation
- molecular and cell biology techniques
- early-stage target validation research
- working with human iPSC-derived neurons
internship role, January - June 2027, with a base pay of $23-$29/hour, supporting remote or hybrid work, with eligibility criteria for educational institutions.
