We are currently hiring for an Associate Scientist opportunity in Cambridge, MA. This is a 12-month contract with the potential for extension, offering $37/hr.
Job Details- Position: Associate Scientist
- Location: Cambridge, MA (100% onsite)
- Pay: $37/hr
- Duration: 12-month contract
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
You would join AstraZeneca's Chemical Biology and Proteomics group within Discovery Sciences, supporting drug discovery research through mammalian cell culture, protein conjugation and purification, and mass spectrometry-based proteomics. This is a great opportunity to contribute to research that advances the understanding of therapeutic targets and potential treatments.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain mammalian cell cultures and prepare cell culture media.
- Perform protein conjugation, purification, and characterization using UV spectroscopy.
- Prepare biological samples for proteomics assays and support mass spectrometry-based analysis.
- Analyze experimental data, maintain electronic laboratory notebooks, and communicate scientific findings.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Chemical Biology, or a related scientific field.
- Hands-on mammalian cell culture experience.
- Experience with proteomics sample preparation, mass spectrometry, Western blotting, or other molecular biology techniques is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
