CAMP4 Therapeutics is leveraging a proprietary RAP® platform to discover antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) therapeutics targeting regulatory RNAs (regRNAs) to treat a broad range of CNS diseases. We are seeking a motivated Research Associate II to join our high-throughput screening team to help identify, characterize, and optimize novel ASO therapeutics.
The successful candidate will execute, optimize, and automate existing in vitro screening workflows, culture relevant cell models, generate high-quality molecular data, and collaborate with Discovery, Chemistry, and Data Science colleagues. This role is ideal for a hands-on scientist who combines careful experimental execution with strong organization, curiosity, creativity, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute high-throughput in vitro screens supporting Platform and Discovery efforts to identify ASO candidates that modulate expression of disease-relevant genes
- Operate liquid-handling platforms and associated laboratory automation with a strong focus on accuracy, reproducibility, and throughput
- Culture, maintain, and experimentally manipulate immortalized, primary, and iPSC-derived cell models
- Perform molecular assays, including RNA isolation, quantitative PCR, digital PCR (dPCR), and protein-based readouts
- Analyze screening data, assess assay quality, identify trends, and communicate results to cross-functional project teams
- Develop, optimize, qualify, troubleshoot, and transfer screening assays, workflows, protocols, and data quality controls to drive improvements in efficiency and capabilities
- Collaborate with Platform, Discovery, Chemistry, and Data Science teams to manage screening priorities and advance hits through validation and characterization
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of experimental designs and results, protocols, sample inventories, and data files
- Support routine laboratory operations, including reagent and supply ordering and preparation, equipment maintenance, and general laboratory upkeep
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic by taking initiative, operating with urgency, and collaborating effectively to advance the discovery of breakthrough medicines for patients
Education & Experience
- BS or MS degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, bioengineering, or related discipline
- Relevant research experience in an industry or academic setting (3+ years with BS degree or 1+ year with MS degree); biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred
- Extensive hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays
- Experience with basic molecular biology techniques including RNA isolation, quantitative PCR, and western blotting
- Demonstrated ability to execute experiments carefully, document work thoroughly, and deliver reproducible results
- Experience with liquid-handling automation and high-throughput screening is strongly preferred
- Experience with primary cells, differentiated iPSC-derived cells, dPCR, and ASOs, or other…
