The Sales Associate is part of our Sales organization covering the Greater Boston region and can work remotely. This role is designed for individuals looking to start a career in sales within the life sciences industry. The Sales Associate will focus on generating leads, qualifying prospects, and supporting the sales pipeline for our full portfolio of products, including custom oligonucleotide solutions across key application areas such as qPCR/dPCR, CRISPR, Functional Genomics, Synthetic Biology, and Next Generation Sequencing.
This position reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager for the Boston Area
. The role requires regular in-person presence at customer sites, university, and industry events to maximize visibility and engagement.
- Generate and qualify leads within the Greater Boston territory through proactive outreach and engagement by visiting universities, research institutions and corporate campuses, walking lab aisles to discover new opportunities, and engaging with scientists and decision-makers.
- Represent the company on-site by hosting information tables in university lobbies or corporate campuses, answering questions, and showcasing our solutions to generate qualified leads.
- Collaborate closely with Territory Sales Managers (TSMs) and Inside Sales Representatives (ISRs) to ensure alignment on regional strategies, smooth handoff of qualified opportunities and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Develop product knowledge and learn consultative selling techniques to uncover customer needs and position appropriate solutions.
- Build proficiency in CRM tools to manage leads, track outreach activities, and maintain accurate records of customer interactions.
- Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science-related discipline or related field required;
Master’s or PhD in a life science field is a plus. - Strong interest in life sciences and commercial roles.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable initiating conversations and building rapport in person.
- Ability to work independently and spend significant time in the field.
- Familiarity with molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, CRISPR, NGS) preferred.
- Laboratory experience in molecular biology or related fields.
- Previous customer-facing experience (internships, academic collaborations, or similar).
