Sr. Software Test Engineer

The Sr. Software Test Engineer will join a highly effective product quality team in Waltham, working side‑by‑side with developers in an Agile environment. You will develop test cases for a wide range of software components, including user interface and algorithms, write or update test cases, manually execute tests, and interact with a variety of electronic equipment in the lab. In addition to manual testing, you will be involved in test automation that requires coding skills in Python or other programming languages in a Linux environment.

Our tools include ELK, Jira, Jama, Jenkins, and Squish.

Work Mode

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our Waltham, MA office at least 3 days per week.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Design, develop and execute test cases to ensure product quality by proving system functionality and verifying that business and user requirements are met in the Electrophysiology domain.
  • Manually execute tests and/or execute automated test scripts.
  • Create and execute automated test scripts.
  • Debug and fix issues in automated test scripts within their verification points.
  • Debug and fix issues related to the automation framework.
  • Execute automation runs to test JIRA items and coordinate with multiple scrum teams.
  • Ensure that tests have been conducted in accordance with written procedures.
  • Document test results and write test reports.
  • Diagnose problems and report bugs and enhancements in the bug‑tracking system.
  • Share knowledge and demonstrate product areas to other team members on an ad‑hoc basis.
  • Assist in determining test methodology, test strategy, and test data setup.
  • Participate in daily scrum meetings, product review meetings, bug triage meetings, etc.
  • Work closely with software development, hardware engineering, field support, and other cross‑functional teams.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree along with 5+ years of software test engineering or related experience, or 3+ years with a master’s degree or advanced degree; preferred BS/MS in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Python programming experience.
  • Prior experience with source‑code management tools such as Git and Bit Bucket.
  • Working experience with databases.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Programming experience such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C or C++.
  • Strong product quality and testing experience, preferably in the medical device domain.
  • Experience with ultrasound medical devices.
  • Working knowledge of test automation under Linux/Unix environments.
  • A natural attention to detail and a penchant for organizing and documenting.
  • A good learner who can master complex software and quickly adapt to new tools and technologies.
  • Experience working in Agile Scrum development environments.
  • Ability to think logically and analytically in a problem‑solving environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Follow company policy regarding ISO and FDA documentation and compliance for medical devices.

Requisition

Minimum Salary: $86,600
Maximum Salary: $164,500
