We are seeking a skilled and experienced sustaining software engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining existing software products, with a focus on quality, reliability, and performance.

• Identify and fix bugs in the software
• Optimize the performance and scalability of the software
• Ensure the overall quality and stability of the software
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to characterize and prioritize bugs
• Participate in code reviews to ensure that the software meets standards for quality and maintainability
• Write and maintain documentation for the software, including release notes and technical documentation
• Provide technical support to users and customers as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and 1-3 years of experience in software development
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• Experience with Python, Linux, Git, and pytest
• Experience with RDMS, preferably PostgreSQL
• Experience with IoT and software driving instruments and other hardware
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment
• A track record of successfully maintaining and improving software products
• Ability to work effectively with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements

• Familiarity with biology and genetics
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools
• Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS)
• Experience with agile software development methodologies
