Earn $980.00–$1,130.00 per week (based on experience). Quick pay range may vary by skill and experience.
Essential Generic Job Functions- Collect venous or capillary blood from newborn through geriatric aged patients using proper aseptic collection techniques.
- Perform point‑of‑care testing (POC) on patients ranging from newborn to geriatrics.
- Cleans and re‑stocks POC supplies and prepares phlebotomy carts/trays.
- Assists coworkers with draws and POC testing.
- Draws and delivers all blood work (stat, timed, routine) within established departmental policy time frames.
- Draws venous and capillary blood into proper tubes and culture vials according to the purpose for which the blood is to be tested.
- Completes clerical functions associated with POC testing documents.
- Reports incidents/issues regarding patients or employees in a timely manner to group leader or supervisor.
- Reports supply needs and equipment defects in a timely fashion.
- Logs refrigerator temperatures daily and reports if falls out range to group leader or supervisor.
- Travels and performs phlebotomy duties and POC testing, as needed, at Health fair and PSA testing sites and delivers specimens to laboratory.
- Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.).
- Adheres to the standards identified in the clinics organizational competencies.
- Lift light to moderately heavy objects (1–15 lbs frequently; 16–25 lbs occasionally; 26–40 lbs seldom; >41 lbs not to be lifted without assistance).
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods and requires long hours of eye and hand coordination.
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks with the dominant hand frequently throughout the day.
- Position requires travel.
- Extensive use of phone and PC.
- Fine dexterity with hands/steadiness.
- Talking.
- Walking, balancing, bending/kneeling, pushing/pulling, reaching/twisting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
