Summary & ScopeThe Staff Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate processing and maintenance of financial and operational records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with the budget, month‑end close and reporting processes, conducting internal audits, and developing and coordinating best‑in‑class processes for key transactional functions.
Job Responsibilities- Job Order Entry – includes entering new jobs by reviewing the details of the order to ensure everything is entered into the accounting software accurately, and processing change orders as needed.
- Estimate Entry – includes entering the estimates accurately and timely for each new job into the accounting software.
- Complete account reconciliations, journal entries, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Assist in the company’s month‑end close and reporting activities.
- Thoroughly investigate any variances and communicate and resolve as appropriate.
- Assist in yearly and quarterly budgets and forecasts and variance analysis.
- Review projects’ committed costs to determine remaining costs to complete.
- Work closely with other finance team members and assist with processing and effective management of other transactional activities as needed.
- Work with and support other departments including, but not limited to Procurement, Operations, Project Management to assist on completion of daily tasks or projects as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree and 1+ years of related experience.
- Strong organizational skills, including prioritization and time management.
- Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems; analyzes information and standard practices to make judgments.
- Work with accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Office Programs.
