Engineering Design & Technologists, Manufacturing Engineer
Performs basic design and advanced drafting tasks, requiring CAD skills and basic engineering knowledge to complete assignments, which are part of an overall project. Requires the ability to do simple layouts of discipline related equipment and components, to select and/or size discipline related components for simple systems, apply standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related tasks.
Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of alternatives.

Education/ExperienceA two‑year technical associate’s degree and a minimum of six (6) years of relevant technical experience or a four‑year technical degree and a minimum of four (4) years of relevant technical experience. The education/experience shall be in a Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or Architectural discipline featuring CAD instruction and computer skills.
Responsibilities- Prepare simple designs and layouts as assigned by Discipline Engineer or Project Manager.
- Complete drawings in accordance with Company and Customer Standards including all line work, dimensioning, cross‑references and CAD requirements.
- Provide and check drafting assignments to Drafters.
- Coordinate work with other Team Members.
- Mentor less‑experienced Drafters.
- Travel to project meetings or job sites to aid in project implementation.
- Provide material selection for basic items.
- Prepare material take‑offs, lists, schedules and reports as required to complete project documentation.
- Assist in requisitioning/inquiring project materials including bid summaries.
- Is proficient in all skills and abilities of a Drafter III. Additionally, proficient in the following:
- Understands and applies Applicable Codes, Industry Standards, Customer Standards, and Customer Project Requirements.
- Able to prepare routine project calculations under the supervision of an Engineer (examples: pipe wall, pipe pressure drops and velocity, foundation footing, grating span, wire sizing, conduit sizing).
- Able to prepare and update drawing lists, including drawing percent complete estimates. Understands drawing development and completion well enough to accurately estimate drawing percent complete.
- Able to prepare Bills of Material, typically for commodity items like pipe and fittings.
- Able to coordinate with the other disciplines in a project team. Ability to attend Customer Meetings as needed.
- Ability to apply discipline specific basic engineering principles in completing assigned tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret Vendor and project drawings and documentation as required to complete assignments.
