Location: Cambridgeshire

An exciting opportunity to join a global media and gaming organisation based in Cambridge (Hybrid Working) who are looking for a Procurement Specialist / Buyer to join our team on a 12-14 month fixed term contract maternity cover. Working closely with the Head of Procurement and Purchasing Coordinator, you will use your procurement experience to ensure that the organisation receives the best value for money by sourcing new suppliers, maintaining relationship with existing suppliers, negotiating contracts, preparing reports, and identifying opportunities to improve our processes.

Responsibilities of the Procurement Specialist / Buyer

* Continuously evaluating suppliers to ensure best value for money.

* Manage end-to-end procurement process of categories including but not limited to software, marketing, facilities.

* Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers, vendors, internal & external customers and stakeholders.

* Negotiate contracts for goods and services purchased.

* Work closely with the Head of Procurement on high level spend where RFP's are required.

* Take an active lead in research of potential vendors for any new requirements and for ongoing spend.

* Prepare and present reports on historical purchasing activity, including cost analysis.

* Contribute to the department targeted savings by challenging costs on a regular basis.

Person Specification of the Procurement Specialist / Buyer:

* Procurement experience, ideally more focused on indirect spend.

* Strong knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors).

* Solid analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses.

* Strong negotiation skills.

* Confidence to challenge costs where appropriate to achieve savings.

* Ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

* Positive and solutions focused approach when working with internal customers.

This position would suit someone with experience within purchasing, procurement or supply chain as a procurement specialist, purchasing specialist, junior buyer, buyer or senior buyer
