Job Description

Are you ready to take your surveying expertise to the next level? We’re looking for a Senior Building Surveyor to join our dynamic Kier Design team in Cambridge, Gerrards Cross, Lincoln, or Nottingham. You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering innovative design and professional services across diverse sectors, shaping the built environment for both public and private clients.

Location:

Cambridge, Gerrards Cross, Lincoln or Nottingham

Hours:

37.5 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired.

Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per year + benefits

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed building surveys of buildings and sites, producing reports and recommendations for maintenance, refurbishment, or redevelopment.
  • Advise clients on building condition, compliance, sustainability, and regulatory requirements.
  • Design and specify solutions for projects ranging from restoration to demolition.
  • Manage projects end‑to‑end, including procurement and contract administration.
  • Mentor junior surveyors and ensure quality standards across the team.
  • Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development.

Qualifications:

  • Degree‑level qualification in Building Surveying or related discipline, RICS accredited.
  • Chartered status (MRICS or CIOB).
  • Proven experience across a variety of building types and sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes and contract administration (JCT/NEC).
