Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor
Cambridge | £60,000-£80,000 DOE + Excellent Benefits

Ready to take ownership of major MEP packages and work on some of the UK's most exciting construction projects?

We're working with a highly regarded, multidisciplinary construction consultancy that's continuing to expand its Cost Management team in Cambridge. With a strong project pipeline and an excellent reputation across the built environment, this is a great opportunity for an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor to step into a role with real responsibility, client exposure and long-term progression.

You'll be involved from the early stages of projects through to completion, providing commercial expertise across complex mechanical and electrical packages. The project portfolio spans healthcare, education, infrastructure, regeneration and major public sector developments, giving you plenty of variety and the opportunity to build on your existing experience.

More importantly, you'll be joining a business that values its people, gives its surveyors autonomy and actively supports career development.

The Role

You'll take the lead on the commercial management of MEP packages across a range of high-value projects, working closely with clients, contractors and wider project teams.
Your responsibilities will include:

Leading the commercial management of mechanical and electrical packages from pre-contract through to final account.
Preparing cost plans, estimates, budgets and tender documentation.
Developing procurement strategies and managing tender processes.
Evaluating tenders and supporting contractor appointments.
Administering NEC and JCT contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
Managing valuations, variations, change control and final accounts.
Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout projects.
Leading value engineering exercises to deliver the best possible outcomes for clients.
Monitoring project performance against commercial and programme objectives.
Building strong, long-term relationships with clients, contractors and consultants.
Leading commercial meetings, workshops and client presentations.

About You
We're looking for a commercially astute MEP Quantity Surveyor who is comfortable taking ownership and enjoys working closely with clients and project teams.

You'll ideally bring:

A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline.
Strong experience in MEP Quantity Surveying or within a Building Services environment.
Proven experience managing mechanical and electrical packages from pre-contract through to final account.
Good knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
MRICS status, or a genuine commitment to achieving chartership, would be advantageous.
A proactive, commercial mindset and the ambition to progress within a growing consultancy.
A full UK driving licence is preferred.

What's in It for You?
This isn't simply a move to another consultancy. It's an opportunity to join a collaborative, people-focused team where you'll have the autonomy to make an impact and the support to take your career further.

You'll benefit from:

£60,000-£80,000 salary, depending on experience
Private healthcare
Competitive pension contribution
Paid professional memberships
Full APC/chartership support
Travel expenses covered for office and site visits
Clear progression opportunities
A collaborative team and strong social culture
Exposure to high-profile projects across the UKIf you're an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor looking for more responsibility, greater project exposure and a consultancy that genuinely invests in its people, this could be the move you've been waiting for.
