Simply Education is proud to be working in partnership with a specialist SEN school located in Royston, on the Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire border. The school supports children and young people aged 2-19 years with Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD).

The Role

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and committed Teaching Assistant to join this dedicated team on a permanent basis. This role is ideal for individuals with mainstream or SEND experience who are looking for a rewarding, long-term opportunity within a specialist setting.

You will support pupils with a range of additional and complex needs. Due to the rural location of the school and potential off-site activities, a full UK driving licence is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Support pupils with MLD/SLD in the classroom, one-to-one, and in small groups
Assist teachers in delivering individualised learning programmes and structured daily routines
Promote pupils' independence, confidence, and engagement
Support behaviour management strategies and maintain a positive, calm learning environment
Build strong and supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and families

About You

Experience working with children or young people (school, childcare, or community settings)
Patient, resilient, and compassionate, with a flexible and proactive approach
Confident supporting pupils with additional or complex needs
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Holds a full UK driving licence
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
