Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme at the University of Cambridge
The University of Cambridge in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation are pleased to announce applications for the 2025/26 Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme
. The programme supports bright and preforming students from disadvantaged backgrounds across Africa, assisting them in pursuing a Master’s degree at Cambridge.
This programme runs from 2023 to 2030, supporting over 500 students from Africa.
Who can Apply?
Applicants from Africa who have demonstrated excellent academic performance and the ability to develop transformative, climate‑resilient skills in Africa.
Benefits
- Programme fee coverage for the selected degree programme
- Coverage of flight costs to and from the home country
- Monthly stipend for living expenses
- Visa application costs covered
- Termly leadership training, placements, and community engagement with the Cambridge and Mastercard Foundation Scholars alumni community
Eligibility Criteria
- Citizen or national of an African country
- Permanent resident of an African country
- Graduated with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Planning to pursue a Master’s degree full‑time at Cambridge
- Applying for one of the eligible programmes sponsored by the scholars programme
- Meet the admission requirements of the selected Master’s programme
