Our partnership SEN School is an IQM awarded, independent, specialist day school dedicated to providing a highly personalised learning environment for students aged 6 to 19 with a range of complex needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), Moderate Learning Disabilities (MLD), Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD), autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and other associated difficulties. Many of our students also have medical needs and sensory or physical impairments.
Our approach is tailored to help students manage sensory overload, anxiety, low self-esteem, and challenges with transitions, often reflected in their behaviour.
The school boasts exceptional, fully inclusive facilities, including a Hydrotherapy pool and expansive outdoor learning spaces. We have a full therapeutic team who work closely with class leaders to create a child-centred curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
Due to continued growth and expansion, we are seeking a passionate and skilled SEN Teacher to join our NAS-accredited, specialist team. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our students and help improve their outcomes as they prepare for adult life.
The RoleAs an SEN Teacher at this school, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging learning within a meaningful and individualised curriculum designed to challenge and stretch all learners in your class. You'll work as part of a dedicated team focused on providing the best education possible to prepare our students for their future. Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver tailored, high-quality learning.
- Create an engaging and supportive environment.
- Work closely with class leaders, therapists, and other professionals.
- Contribute to the overall development of the curriculum.
- Lead and manage support staff effectively.
- Engage in assessments and report on students' progress.
- Potentially involve in physical intervention and personal care routines.
- PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification with evidence of ongoing professional development (essential).
- Solid understanding of the Teacher Standards and expectations.
- Experience or knowledge of SEN, particularly sensory-led curriculums.
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Attention to detail in assessing, recording, and reporting progress.
- Leadership skills, with the ability to guide and support other adults in the classroom.
