The post holder will be based at Bassingbourn Village College but will be expected to work across the Trust and to travel between sites.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Science specialist with the ability to teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS3 and KS4. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching, raising student achievement and contributing to the continued development of the Science department.

Key Responsibilities Teaching & Learning- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality Science lessons
- Contribute to curriculum development, schemes of work and teaching strategies
- Use assessment data effectively to monitor progress and implement targeted interventions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student targets and anticipated grades
- Set and monitor ambitious targets for all learners
- Lead and promote Behaviour for Learning principles within the faculty
- Develop and implement clear strategies for managing behaviour and supporting students
- Work closely with parents, pastoral teams and external agencies where appropriate
- Contribute to whole-school development planning and quality assurance processes
- Participate in staff development and performance management
- Support extra-curricular enrichment including trips, visiting speakers and STEM opportunities
- Take part in Open Evenings, Parents’ Evenings and other school events
- Degree in Science (or related subject) and QTS
- GCSE grade C+/4+ (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4
- Evidence of impact on student progress and achievement
- Ability to use assessment data to inform teaching
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
- Experience in a comprehensive school setting
- Experience using digital platforms such as Google Classroom
- Understanding of current KS3 and KS4 curriculum developments
