Assessor/Trainer in Plumbing & Gas
Location:
Cambridge (across two sites)
Salary: £31,110 - £36,157 per annum
Contract:
Full-time, Permanent Working Pattern:
Agile working, including on-site delivery, workplace visits and remote administrative work
We are supporting a high-performing Construction department within a Cambridge college who are seeking an experienced Plumbing and Gas professional to join their team. This role gives you the opportunity to guide apprentices throughout their learning journey, helping them to develop the confidence, skills and behaviours needed for industry success.
You will play a key role in preparing apprentices for their End Point Assessment and contributing to the ongoing quality and development of the apprenticeship provision.
The Role
• Deliver high-quality training, coaching and support
• Conduct workplace assessments and progress reviews
• Monitor, track and record apprentice progress accurately
• Prepare apprentices comprehensively for End Point Assessment
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with employers
• Contribute to business development and employer engagement
• Stay up to date with industry standards, regulations and Health & Safety requirements
• Ensure all documentation and records are accurate and compliant
What You'll Bring
• Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Plumbing
• Strong and relevant industry experience
• Assessor and/or IQA qualifications (desirable)
• Experience in teaching or assessing (desirable)
• Good understanding of Apprenticeship Standards and EPA processes
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Confidence using digital systems and tools
• A flexible, professional and collaborative approach
• A valid UK driving licence and access to a business-insured vehicle, or ability to travel across Cambridgeshire and neighbouring counties
