PGCE, QTS, SEN experience

Responsibilities
  • Plan and teach high‑quality, engaging lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and (if applicable) 5.
  • Use data to monitor student achievement and implement interventions where gaps are identified.
  • Guide students through GCSE/A‑Level specifications, focusing on exam technique and marking criteria.
  • Maintain a focused, respectful classroom culture using the school's behaviour framework.
  • Act as a Form Tutor, supporting the social, emotional and academic well‑being of a specific student group.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental schemes of work and share best practices with colleagues.
Preferred Skills
  • A deep, up‑to‑date understanding of your specialist subject and its relevant exam boards.
  • The ability to adapt complex material for a wide range of abilities, including SEN and EAL students.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools such as Google Classroom, MS Teams and interactive whiteboards to enhance learning.
  • Competence in using school management systems (e.g., SIMS or Bromcom) to track and report on student data.
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills to engage and command a room of young people.
