Location: East Cambridgeshire

Year 1 Teacher – Full-time, long‑term temporary and ongoing role starting September 2026

Duties

as Year 1 Teacher
  • Teach a KS1 class full‑time with high‑quality planning and delivery
  • Support pupils in developing core skills in reading, writing, numeracy, and wider curriculum subjects
  • Maintain consistent routines and promote positive behaviour approaches
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet varied learning needs
  • Monitor progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
  • Contribute fully to planning, assessment, and year group collaboration
  • Attend relevant staff meetings and contribute to whole school approaches
  • Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil well‑being
Ideal Year 1 Teacher
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with strong KS1 teaching experience
  • Preferably in the third year of teaching or beyond
  • Confident supporting a range of learning and behavioural needs
  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Strong organisational and communication abilities
  • Reflective, proactive, and committed to delivering high‑quality teaching
  • Reliable, nurturing, and able to motivate pupils of differing abilities
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
