Responsibilities- Plan and teach high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and (if applicable) 5.
- Use data to monitor student achievement and implement interventions where gaps are identified.
- Guide students through GCSE/A-Level specifications, focusing on exam technique and marking criteria.
- Maintain a focused, respectful classroom culture using the school's behaviour framework.
- Act as a Form Tutor, supporting the social, emotional, and academic well‑being of a specific student group.
- Contribute to the development of departmental schemes of work and share best practices with colleagues.
- A deep, up-to-date understanding of your specialist subject and its relevant exam boards.
- The ability to adapt complex material for a wide range of abilities, including SEN and EAL students.
- Proficiency in using digital tools like Google Classroom, MS Teams, and interactive whiteboards to enhance learning.
- Competence in using school management systems (e.g., SIMS or Bromcom) to track and report on student data.
- Strong communication and public speaking skills to engage and command a room of young people.
- The mental agility to handle the fast-paced, high-pressure environment of a secondary school.
- A genuine ability to connect with teenagers and understand the challenges they face.
- A no excuses approach to student potential and a commitment to closing the attainment gap.
- The flexibility to respond to the changing needs of the classroom and the wider school community.
- A desire for continuous improvement and an openness to pedagogical feedback and coaching.

All candidates will be subject to Randstad Education's child protection and UK eligibility vetting including a DBS check and providing satisfactory references. A DBS on the update service would be a distinct advantage due to the urgent nature of some of these roles.
