Job Description
We are looking to recruit students to work with our team in welcoming students joining ARU in September
Dates(s) and TimesTraining:
Wednesday 9th September - 1 hour online (time to be confirmed)
Monday 14th September - 10:30 - 15:30
Wednesday 16th September - 10:30 - 15:30
Thursday 17th September - 10:30 - 15:30
Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour
Location: Cambridge Campus
Previous ambassador experience is desirable but not essential. Full training will be given and is compulsory for ALL successful applicants.
Key Responsibilities include- To work with staff and other student ambassadors to assist in the welcome of students at the start of the
academic year. - To support the delivery of social events and activities on campus during Welcome.
- To respond to queries from students and staff, signposting them to services or departments and share accurate knowledge in answering their questions.
- To promote equality and diversity, ensuring that an atmosphere of inclusivity is experienced by all students (new
and returning). - To create a sense of community and pride to improve the Welcome experience.
- To model and encourage appropriate behaviour on campus.
- To support other ARU safe behaviour initiatives as required.
- Are passionate about the student experience and want to make the Welcome and arrival experience for students the best it can possibly be
- Are friendly and approachable team-players
- Have enthusiasm and motivation to support a range of social events and activities throughout the welcome
period. - Are sympathetic and responsive to the needs of students, considering the range if personalities, cultures, and
interests of our student body - Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have good knowledge and understanding of the
ARU Cambridge campus and the local area to give accurate information.
Please note that applicants may be invited to a short interview.
Successful applicants will be required to attend a 1-hour online training session.
Priority will be given to students who are available for all 3 dates, and training.
