Reed Education are proud to be working with a highly respected specialist SEN school on the Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border. The school provides an exceptional, fully personalised learning environment for children and young people aged 6 to 19 with a wide range of complex needs, including:
- Profound & Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
- Moderate & Severe Learning Disabilities (MLD & SLD)
- Autism spectrum conditions
- ADHD and associated learning difficulties
- Sensory needs, physical impairments and medical needs
The school is recognised for its inclusive approach, outstanding facilities including a Hydrotherapy Pool and extensive outdoor learning area and its on-site multidisciplinary therapeutic team who work closely with class staff to deliver a child-centred curriculum.
Due to continued growth, the school is seeking a committed and passionate SEN Teacher to join its specialist, nurturing team.
The RoleAs an SEN Teacher, you will deliver high-quality, engaging and meaningful learning experiences, adapted to meet the individual needs of students with complex learning profiles. You will contribute to a fully personalised curriculum designed to stretch, challenge and inspire every learner.
Working alongside class leaders, therapists and support staff, you will help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment where students can thrive and prepare for adulthood.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver high-quality, tailored lessons that meet individual learning needs.
- Foster an engaging, supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with therapists, class leaders and other professionals.
- Contribute to curriculum development to ensure it meets diverse learner needs.
- Lead and manage classroom support staff effectively.
- Assess, track and report on pupil progress with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Participate in physical intervention and personal care routines where required.
- PGCE, QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (essential)
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Strong understanding of the Teacher Standards.
- Experience or knowledge of SEN, especially sensory-led and complex-needs curriculums.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to lead, guide and support other adults in the classroom.
- Reflective, resilient and dedicated to improving outcomes for young people.
- Work in a well-equipped, fully inclusive specialist setting.
