About the Company
An innovative aerospace company at the forefront of electric propulsion and advanced power electronics is seeking a Contract PCB Design Engineer to support the development of next‑generation motor controllers and associated power electronics for sustainable aviation.

The company develops axial‑flux electric motors, motor controller units and battery systems, delivering compact, efficient and safety‑critical electrified solutions for demanding aerospace applications.

Overview of the Role

* The PCB Design Engineer will work closely with electronics and control designers to translate concepts into robust schematics and high‑density PCB layouts, supporting designs from initial idea through to fabrication and assembly.

* You will join a multi‑disciplinary team covering control, power and verification, and be expected to contribute from day one, working autonomously while collaborating with specialists across the electronic design lifecycle.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

* Work with electronics and system designers to convert concepts into schematics and detailed PCB layouts.

* Own PCB layout activities for high‑density designs, ensuring manufacturability, reliability and compliance with internal standards.

* Generate fabrication and assembly outputs

Essential Skills & Experience

* Proven PCB design experience, covering schematic capture and multi‑layer PCB layout for high‑density electronic assemblies.

* Strong experience with Altium Designer for schematic entry, layout and library management.

* Background in automotive, aerospace or industrial electronics, ideally with exposure to high‑reliability or safety‑critical environments.

* Solid understanding of PCB fabrication and assembly processes, including DFM/DFT considerations.

* Ability to work independently, manage your own workload and deliver right‑first‑time designs to tight timescales.

Desirable

* Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
