PCB Design Engineer - Outside IR35 - Competitive Rate - 6 Months - Oxfordshire (Hybrid)

An aerospace electrification company developing axial-flux motors and high-power motor controllers is urgently seeking a Contract PCB Design Engineer to support the next phase of development.

You'll take ownership of high-density, multi-layer PCB layouts for safety-critical motor controller units, working closely with electronics and control engineers to move designs from concept through to fabrication release.

The Contract

* 6 months initial term

* Outside IR35

* Competitive day rate

* Hybrid: 3 days onsite in Oxfordshire (flexible for the right contractor)

What You'll Be Doing

* Full lifecycle PCB design (schematic capture → layout → fabrication outputs)

* High-density, multi-layer PCB layout (power + control electronics)

* Working on compact, high-current motor controller designs

* Generating fabrication and assembly documentation

* Ensuring DFM/DFT and manufacturability compliance

What We're Looking For

* Strong Altium Designer experience (layout + libraries)

* Experience with high-power / high-current PCB design

* Background in aerospace, automotive or industrial electronics

* Confident working autonomously in a fast-paced engineering team

* Solid understanding of PCB fabrication and assembly processes
