Role - Graduate Mechanical Engineer

Salary - £26k-£32k

This is an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to kick-start their career with a growing building services consultancy delivering projects across the commercial, residential, laboratory, and industrial sectors.

With a strong pipeline of work - including cutting-edge laboratory developments and large commercial schemes - the Cambridge office is expanding and looking to strengthen its mechanical design team. You'll be working closely with experienced engineers and directors, gaining hands-on exposure across all RIBA stages while receiving structured support and mentoring to help you progress toward chartership.

This role offers the chance to develop your technical skills in a collaborative environment where you'll be trusted with responsibility from day one.

The Role

As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

Assisting in the design of mechanical building services systems (HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic water).

Supporting projects from RIBA Stage 2 through to Stage 6.

Producing calculations, specifications, and technical reports.

Working closely with electrical engineers to coordinate project delivery.

Attending site visits and design meetings to build practical project experience.

Developing proficiency in software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and IES/Hevacomp.

Requirements

BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or similar).

Strong academic background with an interest in building services design.

Basic knowledge of HVAC and sustainable design principles.

Familiarity with Revit or similar design software (advantageous but not essential).

Ambition to work towards Chartership (IMechE/CIBSE).
