Up to 90,000 per annum dependent on experience Job Reference: 35989 We are seeking an experienced Head of Mechanical Engineering to lead our client's mechanical engineering function based a few miles north of Cambridge. You will play a key role in the design, development and delivery of consumer products working with cross-functional teams across the business. Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the mechanical engineering team in the development and maintenance of a diverse product portfolio - Oversee the design, development and testing of mechanical components and systems - Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and other departments to deliver successful product outcomes - Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget - Develop and implement departmental standards, policies and procedures - Mentor team members and support professional development - Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the mechanical engineering function - Stay current with trends and advancements in mechanical engineering and portable product development - Monitor and report against key performance indicators (KPIs) Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred) - Proven leadership experience within a mechanical engineering department - Strong background in consumer product development - Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes and injection moulding - Proficiency in CAD design tools (2D/3D) such as Creo or Solid Works
- Experience with mechanical simulation tools such as ANSYS - Excellent communication, leadership and project management skills - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment - Strong organisational skills and a methodical, analytical approach to problem-solving - Experience developing and managing KPIs - Ability to identify, implement and monitor innovative engineering solutions - Strong IT skills - Passion for inspiring a culture of continuous improvement - This role includes occasional travel.
