Graduate Town Planner – Cambridge

Location:

Salary: £27,000 – £32,000 (dependent on experience)

Contract:

Permanent, full-time

Are you an ambitious Graduate Town Planner looking to kickstart your career with a forward‑thinking consultancy working on some of the most exciting regeneration and development projects in the region?

We're working with a highly respected planning and development consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high‑quality, sustainable projects across the UK. Their Cambridge office is growing rapidly and is now seeking a motivated Graduate Town Planner to join their collaborative team.

You’ll be involved in a range of projects from day one – from major mixed‑use schemes and infrastructure developments to strategic urban extensions and town centre regeneration. The role offers excellent exposure to clients, local authorities, and multi‑disciplinary project teams, providing a solid foundation for your APC progression toward Chartered RTPI status.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Supporting the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals.
  • Assisting with policy analysis and development plan representations.
  • Undertaking site appraisals, research, and report writing.
  • Collaborating with architects, engineers, and environmental consultants on complex projects.
  • Engaging with clients and stakeholders to deliver positive planning outcomes.
About You
  • A degree (and ideally a master's) in Town Planning or a related discipline accredited by the RTPI.
  • Strong analytical, written, and communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and keen to learn within a supportive professional environment.
  • A genuine interest in sustainable development and place‑making.
