Assistant Project Manager £300 per day Umbrella (Inside IR35) 6–12 Month Contract Hybrid Working – 2 Days Onsite in Cambridgeshire

June 2026 We are currently supporting a public sector organisation with the recruitment of an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of highway maintenance and transport infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy project delivery team, supporting projects through the full lifecycle from planning through to delivery, while working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, and local communities.

Key Responsibilities Support the delivery of highway maintenance and infrastructure projects Manage project timelines, budgets, risks, and reporting Produce technical and project documentation Assist with procurement and contract management activities Liaise with stakeholders including contractors, councillors, and community groups Ensure compliance with health & safety and CDM regulations Attend site visits and stakeholder meetings as required Requirements Minimum 5 years’ experience within Highways & Transport in a public sector environment Experience delivering capital highway maintenance projects Strong understanding of project delivery and lifecycle management Experience managing stakeholders, budgets, and project coordination Knowledge of NEC contracts and project management tools is desirable Strong communication and organisational skills Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential If you are interested in being considered for this opportunity, please apply today!
